P52: Week 21/52 - Children - (Serious/Meltdowns)

I'd love to say that my children are old enough to be beyond meltdowns - perhaps they should be (being that my youngest are 7), but they aren't.  Regardless, I did not capture a meltdown on camera this week. Instead I got my son, Roan, sick in bed. I think this counts for serious, although perhaps it's a bit more sad.

P52: Week 20/52 - Children (Mother)

Apparently I'm in a slump because I didn't do so much this week either. I'm going to recycle some mother-child images I took last December and add a new image that's more just "Mother" that I took this week.

Me and my beautiful children...

And this, this is just for me - the perfect marriage of espresso and chocolate. Makes a mama happy. :)

P52: Week 19/52 - Children (Laughter)

I admit it, I'm recycling an older photo this week as I slacked and didn't get this week done. I love this photo though so I say who cares?! This is an image of my oldest child and her beautiful laugh. She is a complicated young girl who has a really rough time in life, but that laugh of hers is hers alone and can brighten any crowd, any day.  Gotta love it when she lets it out - she just shines!

Next up is my dear friend, Marina Parrera Small.  Marina is a freelance and portrait photographer based in Berkeley, CA. Check out her entry here.

P52: Week 18/52 - Spring (Self Portrait)

Ugh - the dreaded self portrait assignment has finally rolled around. I know I'm not the only one to dread it. Anyway, here's my effort this week. I call it 'Photographer Exposed'.

P52: Week 17/52 - Spring (Macro)

This week we go back to the macro lens and take a look at Spring! I decided to capture wildflowers and also got a cool shot of a bumblebee just covered in pollen and a Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly! Very exciting stuff!

P52: Week 16/52 - Spring (Landscape)

Ah, Spring is in the air! All of April my P52 group is focusing on Spring, with this week being Spring Landscapes.  I dragged my husband out of the house to take a photo hike with me at the beautiful Sonoma Valley Regional Park in Glen Ellen, CA.  I've said it before and I'll say it again - I LOVE living in Sonoma County!  It's just so beautiful here!!!  Here's are some favorites (tough to narrow them down so get ready for an image overload)...

These last two images were taken in Petaluma, along Highway 116.  Spring makes me think of the lambs being born so I wanted to capture a bit of that in the landscape.

Next up is Sarah Maxey Photography from the Kansas City area. Sarah is an on-location, natural light photographer specializing in birth photography, lifestyle newborn photography and modern maternity, baby/child and family portraiture. Click here to see her work!

P52: Week 15/52 - Spring (Portrait)

For this week's entry, I decided to photograph some of my kids with my new Lensbaby Edge80 - it's so cool!  Definitely still figuring it out so these blog posts are a great time for me to play.  It's a pretty cool portrait lens.
